Description
Tekwiat [TEH-QUIE-AHT] are a plant species found in sustainable limspaces, which have several anomalous properties. Most notably, tekwiat flowers are capable of teleporting living beings randomly across an interconnected web of its kind. It’s usefulness in escaping dangerous situations has made it a necessity for well-versed wanderers of liminal space. However, the cultivation and mass production of tekwiat has rendered it completely impractical in certain limspaces.
The tekwiat flowers can be identified by their green, five-pointed star shape, as well as the white mold on the petals, often mistaken as “fuzz”. The flowers grow on small, vine-like bushes similar to baseline rose bushes. Per bush, between 2 and 4 flowers can grow. Tekwiat bushes grow from broken flower petals, much like succulents grow in baseline reality.
When a petal is broken from a tekwiat, the cells of the flower enter a survival state, where they conserve energy until they are able to receive enough nutrients to grow a completely new bush. When this happens, a 2 month period of rapid growth begins, where the petal begins to grow a new body from the scar where it was broken off. After this period, the bush will begin to bear it’s mystical star-shaped tekwiat flower. The flowers take three weeks on average to fully bloom, at which point they can be consumed for their curious effects.
When a tekwiat is consumed, the white mold on the petals reacts to the saliva in the mouth of it’s consumer. This reaction—taking anywhere between 1 and 5 seconds—is a teleportation of the consumer to any other nearby tekwiat plant. The reaction is immediate and causes the used flower to disintegrate. The distance of teleportation varies widely as the location is completely random, however the furthest recorded teleport distance is 4 kilometers (roughly 2.5 miles).
Discovery & Cultivation
The first discovery of the tekwiat and it’s aberrant qualities only exists in rumors and folk tales, as it was never documented. However, the first documentation of the plant was recorded by a primitive tribe native to the Ageless Wood limspace. In 1994, the local environmentalist tribe calling themselves the “Gemaco” were hired by Seekers to search for the five-pointed flower. A transcript of the events is displayed below.

18:03 - I have contacted the Gemaco tribe in the Ageless Wood limspace. I explained that I am searching for tekwiat in bulk, so that it can be cultivated and studied. After brief negotiation, the primitive tribesmen agree to send a small party to aid in the search effort.
